"Oak Grove" <br /> Pillsbury Crossing, Kansas<br /> <br /> Pillsbury Crossing is located in the Flint Hills of northeastern Kansas six miles from Manhattan. A thick limestone ledge which spans Deep Creek provided a sturdy bottom for the wagons of early pioneers to safely ford the water. This black and white photograph shows a beautiful grove of oak trees next to the creek that provides shade for modern day visitors to the area.
