The 8,600 acre Konza Prairie Biological Station was established as a field station for ecological research in the tallgrass prairie region of the Flint Hills in northeastern Kansas. The Konza prairie serves as a prairie preserve and outdoor laboratory for scientific research. This photograph shows a stand of oak trees that are present on the prairie preserve.
